7 best apps for selling on Instagram in Nigeria

Disclosure: SendSawa is our product, and we ranked it first.

Instagram Checkout is not available in Nigeria. A buyer can fall in love with your post, but they cannot pay for it inside the app, so every Instagram seller here needs a second tool to turn a like into an order.

For most sellers, that tool should be a store link in your bio that lets buyers pick, pay and leave you an order without a single DM. That is what SendSawa does, and it is why it is first on this list. The other six suit different sellers, and we say which.

Why Instagram sellers in Nigeria need a separate app

When Instagram cannot take payment, the order moves somewhere else. Usually that is your DMs: a buyer asks for the price, you reply, they ask for your account number, you send it, they send a screenshot, and you check your bank app.

Every step is a chance for the buyer to get distracted. The apps below cut out some or all of those steps.

What to look for in an Instagram selling app

  1. One link for your bio. Instagram gives you one main link, so it has to hold everything.
  2. Payment without a DM. The buyer should be able to pay by card or bank transfer on their own.
  3. Works on a phone. Most of your buyers will open it from inside Instagram.
  4. A way back to you. Some buyers will always want to ask first.

1. SendSawa: best for turning Instagram followers into paid orders

SendSawa gives you a store link for your Instagram bio. Buyers tap it, pick a size or colour, add a few items to a cart and pay by card or bank transfer. You get the order with their name, phone number and address.

What it costs. Free for 10 products, with no time limit. Growth is ₦5,000 a month for unlimited products. SendSawa takes 0% of your sales; the buyer pays Korapay's card fee at checkout, and bank transfers go straight into your account.

Why it suits Instagram. Your store shows Instagram, TikTok and Chat on WhatsApp buttons at the top, so buyers who came from your page can get back to you. Stock counts itself and shows "Few left", which helps when a post goes round and twenty people want the same item. On Growth, buyers who leave a full cart land in a list with a WhatsApp message ready to send.

The top of a SendSawa store: the shop name, a Chat on WhatsApp button, and Instagram and TikTok buttons beside it

Where it falls short. It does not post to Instagram for you or tag products in your posts, and it does not sell downloads.

2. Bumpa: best for Instagram sellers who also have a shop

Bumpa gives you a website, a point of sale and staff accounts, so it fits a seller whose Instagram page sits next to a physical shop.

What it costs. A free Basic plan, then ₦15,000 a quarter for Starter. There is no monthly option.

Pick it if you sell in person too.

3. Catlog: best for a cheap monthly store

Catlog is a Nigerian store builder with orders and invoices in one place.

What it costs. ₦4,750 a month for Basic and ₦9,750 for Business+.

Pick it if you want a paid monthly plan from day one.

4. Linktree: best for creators with many links

Linktree turns your bio link into a page of buttons: your YouTube, your blog, your store, your WhatsApp.

What it costs. Free, or $8 a month for Starter and $15 for Pro, billed in dollars. If you sell through Linktree's own tools, it keeps 12% on the free plan and 9% on Starter and Pro.

Where it falls short. It is a list of links, not a store. A buyer still has to click through somewhere else to pay for a physical product.

Pick it if you have several things to point people to, and one of them is your store.

5. Paystack Storefront: best for a few items

A free product list with Paystack's checkout behind it.

What it costs. Free with a Paystack account. Paystack's payment fee applies to each sale.

Where it falls short. No stock counts, and little room for your brand.

6. Selar: best for Instagram coaches and creators

If your Instagram sells a course, ebook or class, Selar handles delivery of the file and takes payment in naira, dollars and pounds.

What it costs. About 4% + ₦50 from each naira sale.

Pick it if what you sell is downloaded, not delivered.

7. WhatsApp Business: best free way to move the chat off Instagram

Many sellers put a WhatsApp link in their bio and close the sale in chat. WhatsApp Business adds a free catalogue, quick replies and labels for your chats.

What it costs. Nothing.

Where it falls short. There is no payment step. You still send account numbers and check screenshots by hand.

How we ranked these apps

We ranked for a Nigerian seller of physical goods who gets most buyers from Instagram, weighting payment without a DM, cost per order and setup time. If you sell downloads or have a physical shop, look at Selar or Bumpa.

Questions sellers ask about selling on Instagram in Nigeria

Can I use Instagram Shopping in Nigeria?

Instagram Checkout, where buyers pay inside the app, is not available in Nigeria. Sellers here use a store link in their bio or close sales in DMs and on WhatsApp.

What is the best app for selling on Instagram in Nigeria?

For physical products, we think SendSawa. It gives you a bio link where buyers pay on their own, free for 10 products. For courses and downloads, Selar.

What should I put in my Instagram bio as a seller?

Your store link, what you sell in a few words, where you deliver, and how to reach you. Pin a post that shows how to order.

How do I stop answering "how much?" in my DMs?

Put prices on a store link and reply with the link. Buyers who just want the price see it there, and the ones who still message you are closer to buying.

Try it on your next post

Add a store link to your bio, then end your next three posts with "Order from the link in my bio" instead of "DM to order". Count the DMs you get. If you want to try SendSawa, the free plan takes about 5 minutes.

What sellers say

“A customer came to me wanting to buy just one thing. I sent her my store link instead of pictures, and she ended up buying two, because she saw something else she liked while she was going through the store.”
